The Importance Of Early Childhood Learning

Early childhood is a vital time in a person’s life, when our brains develop fast and soak up information like sponges. Everything we do, see and hear in our early years influences the way we behave, live and learn later in life.

Young children benefit from being in a nurturing environment that provides them with opportunities that maximize their potential and teaches them important life skills.

At Little Steps Early Learning, our qualified educators are guided by the Australian Government’s Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This framework provides the foundation for quality early childhood education and helps facilitate children’s learning.

The EYLF has a specific emphasis on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication and language as well as social and emotional development.

Our educators create fun, educational programs that encourage children to have a strong sense of identity, connection and well being and to become effective communicators and confident learners.

Our Value and Philosophy

At Little Steps Early Learning, we believe every child deserves the best opportunity to develop their individual abilities, potential and talents.

That is why we provide children between 6 weeks and 5 years of age with a fun, safe and stimulating environment and qualified educators to facilitate their play-based learning.

We believe in good communication and a strong connection between educators and children as well as between the educators and families

At Little Steps Early Learning our team of early childhood professionals create a stimulating and nurturing environment which promotes a sense of safety and security for children aged birth to school age. It is our belief that an environment build on trust provides children to best opportunity to reach their individual learning potential.

We believe that children are capable and resourceful learners who, guided by our qualified educators, contribute to their own holistic learning. We respect that each child and their family bring with them unique skills and knowledge which is reflected in our programs to foster growth, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging to our early learning community.

We respect and value collaboration with families in developing high quality learning opportunities for children. We acknowledge that families are experts in their child’s lives and welcome their contributions in decisions about their child’s learning and wellbeing.

Research confirms the significant brain development occurring in the first five years of a child’s life, in particular in the first three years are critical in shaping brain architecture. It is for this reason that Little Steps Early Learning is committed to providing young children to very best learning opportunities through experiences such as social, physical and emotional development, early mathematics and literacy skills and the creative arts.
